An award-winning civilian army public affairs professional joined the Capital Communications and Consulting, LLC., expanding its expert communications and marketing team.

Sarah Gauvin will serve as Senior Communications Strategist – supporting current Capital Communications clients and new clients in Virginia where she lives with her husband and three children.

Gauvin’s 15 years of experience with the U.S. Army includes communications support to simulation, military construction, training and doctrine, and installation organizations. Gauvin is a proven operator in strategic communications, media relations, social media, crisis communications, community engagement, legislative relations and journalism.

She began her military public affairs career in the Department of the Army Public Affairs Intern Program – a highly selective and prestigious program to grow future Army Public Affairs leaders. In her final year working for the Army, Gauvin was selected for the Enterprise Emerging Leader program – a talent management program growing future senior executive service professionals.

Gauvin is a five-time winner of the Army’s annual public affairs competition including awards in the communications campaign, digital media presence, media relations, and community relations categories.

Sarah holds two Bachelors of Arts degrees from the University of Central Florida – one in Advertising and Public Relations and the second in Psychology. She is also a graduate of the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Md.

In addition to her work with Capital Communications, Gauvin serves as the Vice President Young Professionals for the Lee Chapter of the Association of the United States Army.
